That riff is played four times then comes a little “interlude.”

The () is there b/c you kind of just put your fingers on the strings to mute them a
 little and the strumming is down up down (alternate picking) for those…then you play the
 chord once without muting the strings…listen to the song and there should be no prob.

 this part again then you get into a kind of solo kind of interlude thing that I
 found two ways to play it. I don’t know which one is easier, but you can play it both ways.
